Then he says, “In the beginning, before the creation of the earth” (Proverbs 8:23). What is this “earth” other than our flesh, which again became earth after the Fall? For he says, “You are earth and to earth you will return” (Genesis 3:19). This earth, then, requires a cure, if it should participate in any way with the holy Logos.
