Now I am of the opinion that those who read the Holy Scriptures, as if they truly grasp the seeds and principles of this reading, should put forth more proofs for what has been said, so that they might thwart the intentions of those who distort the faith.  For really “they have abandoned” the God who begot them “and have dug broken pits for themselves” (Jeremiah 2:13).
