. . . but of those who teach them as if they were they were ashamed to make mention of the Word, whom all the Divine Scriptures proclaim as such. For David says about him, “By the Word of the Lord the heavens were established” (Ps 33:6). And he says again, “He sent out his Word and healed them” (Ps 107:20). And Solomon says, “Evil men seek me but they will not find me, for they hated Wisdom and did not choose the Word of the Lord” (Pro 1:28,29). And Isaiah said, “For out of Zion will come a law, and the Word of the Lord will come out of Jerusalem” (2:3). And again Jeremiah said, “The wise men were ashamed and terrified and seized because they rejected the Word of the Lord” (Jer 8:9) And the Prophet Hosea said, “They hated the accuser at the gates and reviled the sacred Word” (Am 5:10). And likewise also Micah, made mention of the Word and said, “Out of Zion will come a law, and the Word of the Lord will come out of Jerusalem” (4:2).
