For God needed nothing else to make him ready and properly prepared; no sort of material, or other human attribute; nothing other than that readiness in his thinking. Since therefore it was impossible for God to consider creating heaven apart from the Logos and the Wisdom which belongs to the Logos, it is truly said that “when he prepared heaven I was together with him” (Proverbs 8:27).
