Here the Father says, “I am the one who is” (Ex 3:14), but clearly he is speaking through the Word. For it is apparent that everything the Father says, he always says it through his reason, the Word. This is also clear on our own account, to compare small matters to great and divine matters, for also whatever we would want to say or do, we do by means of our reason.
