As for good books on the 4th century, I can&#039;t think of one in particular.  Do look at some on our recommended reading list.  The appropriate chapters of Henry Chadwick&#039;s &lt;em&gt;The Early Church&lt;/em&gt; would give a good overview.  I can&#039;t think of a good secular acount off the top of my head.</description>
