Therefore even if someone fabricates that “there is a first God and a second God,” as Narcissus has written in these words, and says that he and his Father are two, we have heard the Lord himself and other portions of the Holy Scriptures testify, for the one who says, “Let us make man according to our image and according to our likeness” (Gen 1:26) does not agree with that. Now if because of this Narcissus would want to “divide the Word from the Father with respect to power,” let him know that the same prophet who wrote that God said, “Let us make man according to our image and likeness” has also written, “God made man” (Gen 1:27).
