Therefore Asterius, desiring to defend Eusebius and what we he has wrongly written, has become his own accuser by quoting “the nature of the Father and the nature of the begotten.” For it would have been much better to leave unexplored “the depth of Eusebius’ thought,” as he wrote, “which is expressed in few words,” than to bring to light the craftiness of the expression by such speculation.
